The service

GetYourNIF.pt is an independent online service that helps you obtain a Portuguese tax identification number (NIF) remotely. We prepare and file your application with the Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira (Finanças) on your behalf, and every application includes 6 months of fiscal representation. We are not Finanças, and we are not part of the Portuguese government. A NIF itself is issued by Finanças free of charge to anyone who applies in person in Portugal; our fee pays for the remote, done-for-you service.

Prices

Prices are per applicant, in euros, VAT included, with no hidden fees:

• Standard: €99.
• Urgent: €145.
• Family applications: when 2 or more applicants are filed together in one family application, the NIF fees are reduced by 5%. The discount applies to the NIF fees only.
• Optional Finanças password: €50 per applicant, only if you choose it. It is never required and is not discounted.
• Fiscal representation is included for 6 months. Renewal after the included 6 months is €99 per year, cancel anytime.

How it works, and timelines

You complete the application form, provide the documents listed for your situation, and sign a power of attorney where one is required. We check your documents, file with Finanças, and email your official NIF PDF when it is issued. Published timelines (Standard, and Urgent within 1 business day) are the timelines we work to where Finanças processing allows; Finanças is a government service, so issue times are ultimately theirs and cannot be guaranteed.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you give us and for providing documents that are genuine, complete and readable. If Finanças rejects your documents for a reason that can be fixed, we refile once free of charge.

Money-back guarantee: the full terms

• If we cannot obtain your NIF, you get a full refund. No deductions, no credit notes, back to your original payment method.
• Cancel before we file: full refund, no questions and no fee.
• Cancel after filing: if Finanças later issues the NIF, the service was delivered. If the application fails for a reason on our side, the full refund still applies.
• If your documents are rejected for a fixable reason, we refile once free of charge instead of refunding, so you still get your NIF.
• Refunds are processed within 5 business days of approval.

Fiscal representation renewal

Your included fiscal representation lasts 6 months from the filing of your application. Before it ends we will contact you about renewal at €99 per year. You can cancel renewal at any time; if you move to Portugal or appoint a different representative, tell us and we will close your representation with Finanças.

Liability

We are responsible for preparing and filing your application correctly and on time, and for the guarantee above. We are not liable for delays or decisions of Finanças, or for losses that follow from inaccurate details or documents provided to us. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Portuguese law.
